The ambition

Enable efficient contactless payments across a major nonprofit food festival.

The constraint

Public networks could overload as roughly 250,000 visitors entered a downtown area with a population of about 260,000; conventional Wi-Fi did not meet the desired reliability and security.

Why It Worked for Taste

1. Dedicated private LTE avoided dependence on overloaded public networks.

2. Two Nova436Q units were placed on opposite sides of Capitol Square.

3. 65-degree antennas served stationary Pocket Routers at the beverage tents.

4.  The network delivered around 30 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up, sufficient for the PoS system.

5. The network experienced zero downtime throughout the event.
